Seems like the “craze” these days is white painted trim. I thought we would go that way too when we started remodeling our home. It looks clean, and if you’re painting bold colors, white trim helps the color pop. But maybe “popping” color is not what you’re after.

Stained wood trim (pine in particular) has given our rooms a warmth, an organic feel that you’re not going to get with painted trim. Plus, as an avid DIYer, I take great satisfaction in creating something that looks that good with my own two hands.

You’ll find lots of “advice” on DIY forums about staining and finishing. But rarely will you get details. This site helps to fill in the blanks. I hope you find it useful. And I’d love to field and question, comments, or observations you might have.
